I am very glad that my job in farewelling Anh Can on your behalf is almost over. And frankly i quietly wished that none of us would have to do a similar job in at least the next 30 years!! But i remember Le Huy Vinh once said on this net: The last one please tell yahoogroups that we have disbanded! or already relocated to . . . Heaven (full of long white clouds).

So anh chi Dzinh, bac Mui gái, anh chi Nguyen Van Hao, anh chi Do Phung, Prof Tuan & chi Mai, anh chi Dang Vu Huyen, anh chi Le Ba Hong, anh Nguyen Hung, .. . (please forgive me if i miss your names), and Lan & myself all attended the last farewell to Dominico Le Dang Can, at the Church and then at the grave site. After Church service and before we left for the grave site, prof Tuan took out a camera and said since some of us have now hurriedly departed, I 'd better take some souvenir photos. So we all lined up for the exkiwi photo session. Inset was nha van Hoang Hai Van aka Phillippe Tong Ngoc, an old friend of mine from the Truong Xuan days. I named him honorary exkiwi for the occasion.

Outside the church. Hùng, Huyên, Hào, Dĩnh, Nga (Mrs Lê Bá Hồng), Phụng, chị Phụng, Giác, Lan (Mrs Ưu), Ưu, Chi (Mrs Huyên), Tuấn, Tịnh, Mai, chị Mùi, chị Dzĩnh, Hoang Hải Văn.

Also before the photo session and Dzinh put an envelope having a Sympathy card + $2000.00 most advanced by myself for friends from afar into the Box in front of the Church. This Sunday, a group led by Bac Dzinh will go to see chi Can and give her the rest of tien phung dieu received by or advanced Dzinh himself. Total tien phung dieu is expected to exceed $3000.00. Newspaper cost ($185) has been paid this afternoon.

Bac Dzinh is planning to include a full list of exkiwi sympathizers & possibly their email addresses (printed out) in the presentation to chi Can this Sunday.

So my job is over. Thanks for your support and condolences messages. We featured very prominently at the funeral in both quality and quantity, and heart-felt & sincere sentiments. Farewell Dominico.

Just a brief report on the visit to Chi Can led by Bac Truong Tuan Dzinh yesterday. Bac Dzinh new "most senior" in Sydney (apart from the recluse Nguyen Van Bay) summoned anh chi Dang Vu Huyen, bac Do Phung, anh chi Nguyen Hung and my other 1/2 & myself to the late Dominico's home at 6pm yesterday. We all obeyed the new Secretary-General's order and interestingly (maybe for the 1st time) all cars emerged in front of the home at exactly 6pm. Anh Dzinh & myself put in an envelope money from anh Dzinh (advanced for chi Trinh, chi Daniele, anh Huan, particularly Le Huy Vinh just back from VN, etc), Hung (advanced for anh Long, anh Tu, anh Tuoc, etc in NZ where he'll collect back during the coming reunion, and myself (for the rest of the money advanced for some in America). Then we walked to the door. The visit coincided with the 3-day reopening the grave under both Catholic & Buddhist "custom".

There after paying tribute to Dominico's altar Dzinh sat down and wrote all the names of those sending condolences messages & phung dieu AND ALL Cuu Sinh Vien Tai Tan Tay Lan filling 2 pages of chi Can's book. Chi Can asked the new Senior (anh Dzinh) to write an email for her to thank all exkiwis for their generosity and kind messages (At one stage everyone was surprised when chi Can reminded Dzinh to write down a few more names that Dzinh forgot, like Nguyen Thuong Son, etc). Anh Dzinh also will "address all of us" as new Senior real soon.

After the visit - anh chi Nguyen Hung took us to the next suburb for a Viet meal, recounting the many jokes the Dominico legacy left to us.

The tally of phung dieu is now in excess of $4000.00. What a good job of the appeal from this net.
